Coronavirus Update

  • It is hoped to retain the ethos of the expedition but whilst keeping safe, during these strange times.
  • Wildside Expeditions re-started expeditions in July, with Covid-19 secure measures in place. The aim was to allow those who had booked for earlier in the year to get their expedition completed. thankfully we were able to do this for most clients.
  • Groups sizes were kept to a maximum of 6.
  • Wildside only used campsites that were extremely quiet or were DofE only. We took advantage of DofE changes and used areas like the Berwyns, in NE Wales to avoid crowds and mitigate risk.
  • Wildside had no cases of Covid-19 and being outdoors does appear to be the safest option.
  • Only one person per tent was allowed. Tents & other equipment was quarantined for 72 hours between expeditions,
  • Hand sanitiser was carried and used frequently. All coronavirus protocols regarding hand washing, face coverings etc. were observed by the participants.
  • Sharing of cooking pots, & utensils should be avoided where possible.
  • It is hoped to retain the ethos of the expedition but whilst keeping safe, during these strange times.
Covid secure expeditions looked like this in 2020...
